Students Perform D.A.R.E. Opera Songs for 30th Anniversary

HOT Education is assisting Waikele Elementary students with preparing songs from a previous HOT Education production of a D.A.R.E. Opera for the D.A.R.E. Hawaii 30th Anniversary Celebration this weekend.

The family event, which takes place on Saturday, Oct. 29, at 10:45 a.m., commemorates 30 years of the Honolulu Police Department’s drug abuse resistance education (D.A.R.E.) program in Hawaii’s schools. The full celebration will be held at the Pearlridge Shopping Center Uptown Center Court from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Aside from the D.A.R.E. opera, the event also features a display of HPD stealth vehicles, live local music and dance, the SWAT Canine Unit, prizes, and more. HOT staff will not be present at the celebration.
