Highlights

HOT audiences have yearned for the return of Shu Ying Li, who last appeared for HOT in the title role of Madama Butterfly in Karen Tiller's critically-acclaimed 2006 production.  She returns again in 2009 for another Puccini title role: Manon Lescaut.  Presented in Italian, this classic tale of lust for money and love, brings Richard Crawley to the stage in his debut for HOT as Chevalier Des Grieux.  Valerian Ruminski and Kelly Anderson, also making their HOT debuts with this production, respectively appear as Geronte de Ravoir and Lescaut.  Hawaii Opera  welcomes back three alumni from the Mae Z. Orvis Opera Studio for this season launch:  Erik Haines, Jim Price and Jeremy Blossey.
